In its second generation, the 2008 Saturn Vue has been redesigned to keep up with, and even surpass some competitors. The Saturn Vue is more properly equipped this year and was voted the best new car for small families by cars.com.The Vue comes in three trim levels: base XE, midgrade XR and sporting Red Line. Each trim level seats five-passengers and is available in front- or all-wheel drive. The hybrid Green Line is an additional trim with some different features for the Saturn Vue.

The XE comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, OnStar, cruise control, air-conditioning, a height-adjustable drive seat, satellite radio and CD/MP3 stereo. The XR upgrades to 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, luggage rack rails, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated mirrors and a power driver seat. The Red Line improves to 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front sport seats, and leather and suede upholstery. Some optional features for the XE are already incorporated in the XR.

There are three engines available for this compact SUV. The front-wheel-drive XE trim is powered by a 164-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. All-wheel-drive XEs have a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces up to 215-horsepower. Both XR and Red Line trims are powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that can produce up to 257-hp with 248 lb-feet of torque.
